I'll start the ball rolling.
I antifouled

Did the boot top with International Micron Extra, supposedly up to 12 months, and the bottom with Hempels who say 3 months for Tiger Extra, so that will encourage me to launch on time.rhumlady wrote:Are you sure anti-fouling so early is a good idea as most manufacturers specify the maximum time before launching as being weeks rather than months. It will be on the tin
Good advice, I applied three coats of Hempels epoxy and tented around the boat with heaters and dehumidifiers to control the environment. I also applied a primer coat between epoxy and antifouling. That was about two months ago when the outdoor temperatures were considerably warmer. I would also suggest more than one coat of epoxy for a better build up and protection.Jolly Roger wrote:Yesterday I finally booked my lift out for 12 January. Then some real work can start.
Miranda. Watch the temperature as epoxy does not set well in cold weather and the first coat of antifouling should be applied before it is fully cured. Do check the labels or your money spent on paint will be waisted as it will peel.
That's a bit sad Bill. Are you going to buy another?billmartin wrote:Sold it. worst day of my life.

Lucky so and so! It seems a long time until I have to do this again:Hot Ayre wrote:Not today but yesterday: rowed out and 'ran the engine' which meant a pleasant trip to the lighthouse and back in quiet weather.
