New header

Post by philipstevens »

Would users like to have a new forum header entitled "Technical Specifications" whereby different types/class of Westerly could have their own Subject Header, and any technical info concerning that class can be added there?

By technical, I mean filters, belts, dimensions, you name it.

It would save a lot of looking up and searching.

Let me know what you think, and maybe a different header to my suggestion - I am open to suggestions and input.

The site is getting a bit more use lately, and this could bring in some more information that was lost when the "MyWesterly" data disappeared.

Philip.

Sounds like a good idea. Once information has been asked for and given, could it be collated and presented somewhere?

Simon,
I was thinking along the lines of one person to start a thread concerning one class of boat, and others adding any information on that boat to that thread.

The thread could start with just the heading of say, Konsort, or Centaur, and others could add what info they knew of that class of boat to that thread - be that info sail size, engine information, fittings, etc. Anything.

Good thinking. How about one thread for the ever popular ( )Volvo 2002 and maybe other widely used engines?

Great idea. Sort of ! Are you suggesting that this will be a Q&A type thing or just statments of fact and sharing experiences. I vote for Fulmar and Bukh 20.

What would be neat would be a little form that one could access from the forum home page. You put your boat type/Engine in and it pops up everything we know about it. The westerly range spreadsheet on the main site would be a good primer and we could fill other stuff in as we get it. I think this would pull a few more people onto the forum......

Right then. I'll add another header tentatively titled "Technical Specifications". The header can be changed at any time if someone comes up with a better title.
