Adult scooters

Does anyone have any experience of adult kick scooters? As we refit for the summer we're considering replacing our folding bikes for these.

Funnily enough I'm thinking about getting a folding bike. Carrying stuff back from Barneville to Cartaret last year was a bit of a fag. I can see it would be a lot easier with a folder and a couple of panniers....

Hi Nigel,
We've used folding bikes for years and have been very happy with them. ( Bought in 2008 from the 'bicycles4you' website ). We thought that the adult scooters may be more convenient in terms of storage and lifting on and off the boat but although that is true we've come to the conclusion that to travel, and sight see any distance a bike is far more realistic sowe're sticking with them. If you're thinking of buying a folding bike we can recommend a look in a store called 'Decathlon' ( online also ). They've recently opened a new site in Farnborough and we've been really impressed with their folding bikes. By the way you're right about the Barneville - Carteret distance...bike definitely needed for carrying the wine and other essential provisions back.
regards
Barry
