Hmmm...

P'raps I'll leave the Axe until I have some local knowledge on board. Beer sounds good, if the wind's in the right direction.

Sounds an epic journey! I’m hoping to launch my centaur start of august from Plymouth and sail it up to gosport.perhaps we could do it in convoy?

I shall (all being well) be back home at the start of August, but back at the boat in Southampton by 9th, for at least a couple of weeks. Happy to meet then, somewhere in the Solent. Where are you going to keep her?

In the meantime, I still have vacancies in the first two weeks of July.

Progress report: Now in Weymouth Marina, having visited Ashlett Creek, Newport, Cowes (long day, that one), Lymington, Christchurch, Lulworth Cove and The Cove in Weymouth en route. Having a rest here today, then off round the Bill in the morning, with a new crew, to Bridport, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth (maybe), Beer, Exmouth; then up to Topsham and possibly Exeter, and all points west.

Just as a matter of interest, Alex, what's the name of your Centaur? I looked at one in Plymouth when I was buying, three years ago.

Brixham. Wobbly pontoon off the YC where we had some excellent mussels last night.

At Weymouth I was joined by a young crew member called Nick, who was excellent. Rounding Portland Bill was far easier than expected, in very gentle conditions, and Lyme Regis was very crowded - but I did make some money busking on the pier.
Then straight to Exmouth, a night on a buoy, drop off Nick at the dock and up to Topsham where I met Nigel and spent a very pleasant couple of nights at the club. There, Graham joined, and we sailed for Teignmouth (tide rips past the visitors' pontoons) and round to Brixham yesterday, nearly all motoring.

Dartmouth and Totnes today (hoping that the current wind continues); then Salcombe & Kingswear; Rivers Avon, Erne and Yealm; then into Plymouth and up the Tamar to Calstock and Morwellam Quay, maybe Dandy Hole as well.
