Step-through pulpit for Corsair or Oceanranger

Greetings all. I'd like to have the pulpit on Tamarisk re-cut to make it easier to get on and off when moored bow-to. The mast is currently down so I'm a bit concerned about making sure the new, lower central bar misses the furler. Has anyone done this and got some measurements they could share? I have seen it on an Oceanlord. Thanks.
