Testing through hull fittings

Post by Pethautwp » Sat Mar 17, 2018 6:44 am

Hi, I’ve recently replaced some seacocks and skin fittings on my boat and would like to know that I’ve achieved a 100%seal before lifting in. I’m thinking of pushing a pipe up against the hull (around the fitting) and filling to a couple of meters to impose a hydrostatic head. I have other more time consuming, engineering like ideas but wondered if anyone had any experience with this activity other than monitoring when lifting in?
Thanks in advance
