Fulmar handrail removal

Hi

I have removed the five nuts from inside the cabin, one of which was glassed over, curiously. So I thought it would then just be a question of hopping up on deck and lifting the rail off. Sadly its not budging. Anyone done this? Do I have to drill the teak plugs and unscrew from the outside?

Thanks as ever for the expertise on this forum.

William

Hi William,

Yes is the short answer! Westerly drilled holes which when you offered up the bolts fitted exactly, therefore the bolts also screwed through the coach roof as well. So you will need to take the plug out and undo the bolt from the top.

Only one glassed in? They must have had an off day. Did you have problems removing the nuts due to the bolt being cut with bolt croppers?

And yes it did seem strange that only one was glassed over, but I was very pleased it was only one. No problems getting the nuts and washers off though I left the washer in place for the glassed in one.
