Tempest anchor winch

Post by Miranda » Tue Oct 07, 2014 6:55 pm

Hi, This is my first post so hope all goes well, I have just purchased a Westerly Tempest and would like to fit an anchor winch, but the layout on the foredeck does not lend itself to fitting one, has anybody done this ? Any advise / photo's would be welcomed.
Thanks in advance.
Tim.

My first post too ! I have just bought a new Lofrans low profile 1000w anchor winch for our Tempest and am about to fit it straddling the anchor locker bulkhead. Another words , the hawse will go down into the locker forward of the bulkhead and the motor will protrude into the forward cabin where it will remain dry. A box/ enclosure will be built around the motor.
