Westerly 22

Post by jamesbowen » Tue Oct 03, 2017 12:32 pm

Dear Westerly Owners.
I have my late father's Westerly 22. Gunter rigged, tan sails bought at the boat show in 1966.
Sadly it has sat in a yard in Stiffkey for 15 plus years and is in a very poor state.
I think the hull is sound, but lots of TLC required on hatch, rubbing strake etc.
The yard describes her as "derelict", I would describe her as a "project".
I do not have the time, energy or resources to do the necessary works. (I also own another yacht)
The yard is threatening to dispose of her although that in itself is difficult.
I want to find her a new home rather that simply dump her.
I would like to hear any suggestions as to individuals or organisations who you think may be interested.
If you can take her away (no trailer) she would be free to a good home.
Contact me by PM - private message - or email me via website.
many thanks
James Bowen

James

I would try popping her on eBay for 99p with no reserve. Stress it is a project and it is free from any yard charges. Buyer to arrange collection by a set date and responsible for all yard fees from the end of the auction.
