Affordable long term boat storage

Post by Konsortium » Sat Sep 13, 2014 12:02 am

Hi, I'm looking for a cost effective place to store my boat for westerly konsort for about 18 months. I'm currently based in Folkestone but am happy to sail as far as the Solent or to Gillingham in the other direction. Many thanks.

Hi,
Try Island Harbour on the River Medina, I always found them to have good rates and a secure service. You will also have to include 'lift out, scrub off etc'. (Richardson - good prices etc) I found them to be the cheapest and you can pay by the month as well. Another one to consider?

Regards

Steve

There are several possible places you could try along the north Kent coast and Medway.

Commercial ventures.

Another alternative would be to join a club which has storage ashore.

Hope these suggestions are worth considering.

I've got a great solution for you.

It looks as though I've finally sold my boat and that leaves my mooring empty. So How about you keep your boat on my mooring for free! I'll even sort the winter yard fees and antifouling. On the proviso that I have use of her in the mean time. This would also mean that you could use her for a week or two in the summer without any of the hassle, just turn up and she'd be ready to go. Only thing is I'm in Fowey - Cornwall. 8)

Scrub the last post - I've just become the proud owner of a 1979 Centaur, so no space on my mooring
