Re: WESTERLY BROCHURES
Just been on the Wiki site for the first time in ages and have seen the plethora of brochures posted by 'Gerard V' just wanted to say thanks whoever you are, i've spent the last couple of evenings browsing the lot, especially the older models - found them really interesting.
I was amazed how many variants Westerly offered in terms of rig, keels, interior layouts etc for almost every boat in the range, if you couldn't find 'your' boat from their range back in the '70's it probably didn't exist?
cheers

Re: WESTERLY BROCHURES
If you couldn't find it then they would sell you a hull & deck kit to finish yourself.

Re: WESTERLY BROCHURES
I believe they built just one bilge keel Fulmar 33 with an open plan layout with a double aft cabin and aft loo. To do this they fitted a new raised deck with a shorter cockpit. This was then exhibited at a Scottish boat show, but no orders were obtained. I was told elsewhere that this company had folded and the moulds had been destroyed. However the web site still remains showing prices from 2014 and never the web site semains under construction. Maybe someone knows different.

Re: WESTERLY BROCHURES
Cant remember where i heard it, but remember someone telling me that the Westerly Spirit that got built got refused a stand at Southampton as the quality was that poor. Bit of a shame that the moulds may have been destroyed, blew me away when wondering around Northshores yard earlier in the year seeing fields around the yard full of the moulds of previous models as well as all the recent ones just parked outside gathering moss and water.

Re: WESTERLY BROCHURES
Found a lot more photos at http://caledonianyachts.com/. Plenty showing the new deck and internal layout. Plenty of things that have been fitted that continually add to the costs like teak (? synthetic) decks and self tacking jib. The internal woodwork was poorly matched for colour and overly complex to manufacture. Plenty of new internal mouldings, which for commercial production should speed manufacturing, but slow down production for the first model. Most yards I have been in always have staging alongside at deck height, but they have not - which I find strange.
