Centaur mainsheet length?
Hi, When we last visited our boat, we noticed that the mainsheet has frayed through. A mainsheet has come up for sale, but I don't know how long it needs to be and as the boat is currently not local, can anyone advise what length (& diameter) I need for a standard setup? If there was a resource with...

Re: Centaur cockpit seating & sole
Thanks, that heronrib would do other than they only supply it in 10m rolls - I could buy 2 teak grating kits for the same cost, although I was hoping to move away from teak.
I'll keep looking and in the meantime keep an eye open for an opportunity for an offcut.

Re: Westerly Centaur or Westerly Griffon
I've not had experience of this personally, but when I was researching my options, I found a thread ( http://www.westerly-owners.co.uk/woaforum/viewtopic.php?t=2485 ) where respondents generally agreed the Griffon was better BUT due to the hull shape slammed more when going to windward. I hate that ...

Re: Washing cushion covers
Hi, I tried the two we currently have at home - put some tepid water & liquid soap in. Gently scrubbed a few marks. Despite not looking obviously grubby, the water was a bit grim.
Haven't reunited them with the foams but assume they haven't shrunk.

Re: MD11 water hose diameter??
Hi, same question, same long trip to boat: what was the answer?
I want to get hose + pump to run Rydlyme through the system.
Many thanks
Jonathan

Re: Impeller choice?
Philip. Thanks for the link to ASAP and the clarification on the pumps. I had been on the marineparts site and wasn't quite sure what I was looking for, as there are 3 pumps and superceded parts etc. Looks like I can't get one in advance of my next visit and that I'll have to try & identify it whils...

Impeller choice?
Hello, I will be inspecting then changing the impeller on our MD11c shortly. (I understand it is best to remove it during lay up?) as I want a new one to start the new season with and ours has been undisturbed for maybe two years. What names/brands are OK? Is it wise to stick with Volvo & pay their ...

Re: Wood burner/solid fuel heater
Weldingjay, I would be interested to know what make/model of heater are you fitting? The link by 30wn78 is to a very small heater - smaller I think than the PA Pansy? I've read the Pansy would struggle to make as voluminous boat as the Centaur cosy & warm, ie you'd still need a pullover. The price i...

Re: Centaur bilge pump
Thanks all. I do plan to fit an electric bilge pump, and even have one. But it's on the list... As is, but very near the top of the list, an oil change so we need to get a pump anyway. The Pela seems popular here. Re cabin bilge pump, where to run the discharge pipe? Can I tee into the existing one t...

Centaur cockpit seating & sole
Hello, I understand that the teak seating slats can (inevitably will?) leak and that they are commonly discarded. I wondered that, with modern sealants, whether the bolt holes could be sealed successfully for a reasonable amount of time? Has anyone persisted with them? Are there any advantages? I qu...

Re: Centaur bilge pump
Through, Thanks - I saw your post from years ago, but there were no replies. There is a small access hole with a black hatch, between the table leg sockets. When I looked in there, there was an amount in there (not alarming, but enough to think it was worth removing) . I did wonder about the engine ...

Re: Washing cushion covers
Thanks Nigel. I think we'll accumulate them all at home: then have a washing fest. We bought some covers only back as the tender is quite small, so we'll have to do it bit by bit.

Re: Centaur bilge pump
Thanks. I didn't test the depth, but I would have thought that there was enough that the pipe would have had a gulp or two. My wife, in the cabin, didn't hear any slurping sounds, which is why I wondered if the aft pump didn't do the cabin bilge. Or the diaphragm has failed. I need to investigate fu...

I saw (& bookmarked) this.
Not a straight drop in, but seems pretty straightforward.

may be of some help?

Centaur bilge pump
Hello, There is an amount of water in the main bilge (the keel bilges had, what seemed to me, to be very little in) and I tried the bilge pump that is in the aft locker - a manual Whale Gusher type, but nothing came out. Does this pump service the engine compartment only and might there be another p...
