Re: A Centaur with one of them curvy interiors

This is it guys - The Ultimate Centaur - could be seen as an oxymoron but thats the point of this project now, we go large all the way. Regarding the seacocks the engine feed is inside the front of the sink base and the sink outlet is to the left of that, although the widest door i can get away on t...

A Centaur with one of them curvy interiors

Have started the curvy 'euro' interior for my Centaur over the last couple of weekends, thought i'd post a few pictures: The shapes i'm making are a little complex but not beyond the wit of man, below is the sink module and to the left in the same piece a rubbish bin https://lh3.googleusercontent.co...

Re: Centaur Headlining

Pretty much spot on HD. In the main cabin of mine (an A layout) both quarter berth sides were vinyl, the horizontal (ceiling) and vertical surfaces (windows) of the inside of the cabin were too as far as the locker fronts. Nothing in the heads or hanging locker and then the forecabin was lined horiz...

Writing stuff up

Just had cause to post this as amongst the user stats on my blog are the sources of traffic, which indicate where people have been referred from to my site, i've seen over the past few years i've written in here threatening to write up things like the keels and hot vac system but just don't have the...

Re: Centaur Engine Compartment, help required.

Did think about taking the thrust bulkhead upto the cockpit floor and fitting a bloody great hatch above the fuel tank but would've created morework so have left as is and seeing as there's no qtr berths any more the noise wont be a problem.

Re: Centaur Engine Compartment, help required.

Hi bob the back end of mines completely different to std Centaur, i drilled holes at the lowest point of each cockpit locker to drain into the engine compartment, everything kept separate to the boat, plus theres no bilge in my boat anymore as i infilled with foam, epoxy and PU adhesive. I have an o...

Re: Centaur Engine Compartment, help required.

AP and JR cheers for taking the time. Okay so maybe give jet washing a miss; hoover then wash with hot water. Gas; route outside engine compartment, cool. Sound insulation; i think i will insulate the front of the compartment and upto the thrust bulkhead where the stern gear is and do the underside ...

Re: Centaur - hull to deck flange/joint problems

Welcome to the forum Jax! Right down to business, so a Centaur is what you want?, not too much to go wrong with these fine, seaworthy little beauties that a bit of elbow grease cant put right (if needed). Apropos the deck joint, its a simple biscuit tin type affair through bolted every six inches wi...

Re: Is the Centaur a good sailor?

Damn right it is, listen to no one that tells you they don't point, they're slow blah blah blah, thats rubbish. Having delivered one to Scotland recently from Chichester we experienced every kind of weather pattern morning, noon and night (we sailed non stop) and there is no boat that inspires like ...
