Re: Sumlog impeller

Afraid I don't know of a source but believe these are no longer available, although the cables are still available from Trafalgar. But (and sorry if this sounds naive as I haven't even seen your unit) is the impeller beyond repair? When I replaced the cable on mine I found the impeller to be quite s...

Re: Centaur replacement engine

The Beta 20 seems a popular replacement. Had mine done two years ago.

Re: Red Diesel

This is something that has been on the cards for a long time.

Simple question though: what do foreign boats currently fuel up with when in the UK? Do they visit local garages with spare cans, or do they simply fill up with red diesel and ignore the EU laws on their return to home waters?

Navigators & General (WOA) for my Centaur was £135.66. Due for renewal in August so we'll wait and see.

Re: Original Gibb Sheet winches

I still have these on my Centaur and my advice would be 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'! There are springs inside for the ratchet, and these are very likely to welcome release and go their own way if not careful. I lost one this way and there was already one missing but the winch still operates (f...

Maybe this may help, although it's for a 700:

Re: choosing a boat, need help!

Matt. I go along with all the above. Hope you do join the 'club'.

The bottom line is....if you have bilge keels, then all is not disaster if your tidal height calculations are a bit adrift. However, if you are likely to make errors then make sure it is in a sandy/muddy zone!

Happy Sailing.

Re: WOA Wiki

Thanks for the reply Nigel. Problem with some of these sites though, as mentioned, is just simply too much information. KISS should be the key if new tools were in place. Maybe tweaks to this site would be sufficient.

Re: Konsort Stern Gland - Prop fouling

Hi Peter.

You're out! I've got until next week. Just waiting to see what my prop is like.

Think I have some grease and a redundant greaser if that was the trouble.

See you in the boat park.

Re: Sumlog

I obtained a cable from Trafalgar. The original was 'bird-nested' when I got the boat. See the following from a past posting: SUMLOG CABLE REPAIR Hi, I did the inner cable on my Konsort last year as it was siezed in the centre to the outer cable, with hindsight I should have done inner and outer as ...

Re: Merlin emptying water tank on port tack

OK. I've been following this with interest and am still perplexed! I admit I have no idea of the plumbing on your boats, but............ You have a tap on the basin? Does this not turn off? How do you normally get water from the storage tank to the basin?

Perhaps being a bit dim over this I know.
