Re: pricing konsort duo

I have a Duo which I purchased about nine years ago, in fairly good condition but needed some cosmetic treatment and a few small jobs that needed attention. In that time I have renewed the standing rigging, fitted new sails and davits, chart plotter, radar, GPS, solar panels and a complete rewire of...

Re: Fresh water filling hoses in SWWA area.

With regards to tap fittings I'm afraid we are going to have to carry a variety if we are cruising but only one or two when we fill up locally and know what is required. With regards to paying for water I would suggest that this legislation suits the marina owners. A lot of boat owners will not get ...

Re: Fresh water filling hoses in SWWA area.

Further to my mail regarding fresh water hoses, I have obtained the following information, and the Regulation by South West Water is as follows. 'The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 have been made under sections 74, 84 and 213 (2) of the Water Industry Act 1991, to prevent waste, misu...

Re: Lofrans Royal Windlass

Dear John I have a Duo and fitted an electric windlass a couple of seasons ago. Although we have a locker on the foredeck for the windlass the principle is the same. The chain pipe through the deck is raised about 1/2 inch. I have a removable stainless steel cover that fits over this once the chain ...

Re: Marine Bar-B-Que

Dear Tony, Three of our SW group members bought Cobbs and on their recommendation I bought one last summer. The best thing since sliced bread. Safe and clean to use and can be safely moved by hand once the cooking starts. The cover remains on during cooking so no splashes of fat etc. Keep some cooki...

Re: Gas Locker for a Centaur

I have a Duo and the gas locker is situated in the cockpit. Although it is a dedicated gas locker it does not drain directly overboard. In the event of a leak it would drain into the cockpit and could then drain into the cabin/bilge. The cockpit drains should take the spillage overboard but in pract...

Re: Hull Yellowing

Sorry to come in so late on this subject but have you tried a product called Dilunet. I had severe rust staining in the quadrand box which in turn stained the transom badly. After many attempts with a variety of cleaners etc I found this which removed all of the stains. It is a gel that can be appli...

Dear Martyn, In 2005 I fitted two 56 wp Solara Panels to the after end of my coachroof and ran the cables to the port side through a deck gland just under the moulding on the port side (shortest route to batteries)to a 135 wp regulator. I purchased a replacement gold line and lettering and logo from Trafalgar Yacht Services about two years ago. They were very helpful and prompt in despatching. I telephoned them with the order and checked that the items were in stock. I recommend them

When I first purchased Charisma the tiller steering was very heavy and I could not feel the boats reaction to the wind. The wheel also seemed stiff but as I had no previous experience of the Duo I thought that this was the norm. Three winters later, after lay up, it seized solid and I had to get the...

Re: Duo steering - help

Has anyone replaced the wires on the early Duo. How easy was it? When I first purchased Charisma the tiller steering was very heavy and I could not feel the boats reaction to the wind. The wheel also seemed stiff but as I had no previous experience of the Duo I thought that this was the norm. Three...
