Centaur Starboard glass nav light broke..

Whilst repairing many things on my centaur I smashed the starboard glass nav light which is a shaped piece of glass, any suggestions where I may possibly find a replacement?

Sumlog rusted out

Removed a rusted out sumlog speedo from my centaur and hoping to be able to fit another but it seems the cables are the hard part to find. Anyone know who may have one and indeed a 0-10 knot dial, I have been told the dials are quite easy to find but cables, not so, no point buying a dial if I can't...

Centaur fuel tank tap blocked or restricted?

Recently removed stainless steel tank and cleaned and flushed etc but when I opened the tap it seems there is either a restrictor or it is blocked as it only dribbles out it is not free flowing. Before I take it apart and hence have to buy another...does anyone know if they are restricted or should ...

Centaur steel tank tap blocked?

I have removed my stainless steel tank from my westerly Centaur and flushed etc etc. Upon filling with a little diesel to flush around and empty I notice the tap, when turned fully on, only lets a dribble out, the tap is a Saunders and looks original. But before I take it apart and no doubt end up h...

Re: Centaur rudder tube

Well!! What a nightmare doing the so called easy bit was, after a knackering hour trying to fit a new bearing to the bottom of the tube...noticed it IS slightly oval. I managed to get a bearing in but couldn't fit the rudder through, I think the oval tube squeezed the bearing... Anyway as the proble...

Hole for centaur rudder tube

As you can see from the thread below I have taken out the rudder tube on my centaur. I now have a hole in the bottom of the boat where the rudder tube goes through but there is probably 5mm of play. The hole is purposely cut so it doesnt look as if it has been eroded as its a perfect circle. My ques...

Re: Centaur rudder tube. Time to remove. 1 hour

Hi An old post I know but I have just done this yesterday and its not too bad a job!! 1: unless you have an 8 year old you can throw in the aft compartment after taking out the fuel tank, cut a hole in the cockpit deck about 15cm back from the rudder tube and leave the tank in. (I removed the tank w...

Re: Painting the hull

Hi Roger I have a painted dark blue hull (very tired and flaky) I hate it and was going to repaint it white but....it looks like tons of work, after scraping the bottom I noticed the Dark blue hull paint was peeling off and underneath is a lighter blue colour. which is the original colour of the boa...

Centaur rudder removal

Hi Brand new to this site and only had my centaur for this season, with a few issues I will be asking you all. My main concern is the rudder removal. I have taken off the tiller and removed the stainless ring which had a nut through (this had sheared off!) and taken that off but the rudder won't mov...
