Re: The Wild West River Axe
Having sailed out of the Axe for 20+ years its not for the faint hearted. The entrance is a very narrow 20-30 foot wide horror, on one side is the harbour wall & a shingle bank on the other . Locals are normally back in no later than 30 minutes after local HW, because the tide runs out like a tr...

Firstly work out the hull speed, i.e. max speed the boat will go through the water. If you have reached that at reasonable RPM ,leave well alone.

Ocean 33 anchor
Good morning Folks May I ask if any of you have changed the awful 35lb cqr for a modern anchor, If so what have to managed to get to fit? I have now made templates up for most of the newer shapes & nothing fits, due to the angle of the stem head. It looks like I will have to get an extension mad...

Head linings again!
Hi Folks
Does anyone know, someone who replaces head linings in the South West.?
Have just had a very bad head lining day, discovered ours was held up by the broken fore hatch trim.

Ocean 33 Handicap
May I ask what handicaps you are sailing off, if you race your Ocean 33? I have been given 950 , which seems very fast for a boat with 15 year old sails & full cruising inventory.
Having done some direct line speed comparisons with other boats we seem over handicapped.

lewmar Delta anchor
Has anyone found a suitable stem head fitting to go with the existing westerly stem head to stow one of these anchors? I am looking at something I can bolt into the right hand side of the existing fitting to save the massive cost of a whole new fitting. This is so the anchor will clear the gel coat ...

Re: Vetus manual windlass
Although tedious to do lots of gentle tapping all over with a small hammer tends to break up the grip from corrosion. Have just had to do that on a friends lewmar capstan which is now up & running.

Re: Ocean 33 underpowered with Yanmar 2GM20
Have also brought an ocean 33 this year Very pleased so far , sails like a witch. Glad we have the 30HP engine as even this feels a bit underpowered, only producing 5 knots on flat water at 2500 rpm. Only things I dislike is the seacock access or rather lack of it, & the problems I have had find...

Good morning Folks
Does anyone know how to access the drain in the shower tray from underneath?
Also where does it drain to & should there be a sea cock?
Many thanks
