Re: New Beta difficulty starting SOLVED!
Hi As far as I can tell it was the original fuel tank and tap. I can't say for sure but its certainly been in there a very long time.

New Beta difficulty starting SOLVED!
As many of you will know I re-engined my Centaur with a Beta 20. I have been very happy with the engine but for one irritating habit. When I started the engine it would take 5 seconds or so to fire. Not very long but I always imagined a new engine would just go at the first turn of the key. However ...

There are at least half a dozen Centaurs for sale round the country - Just do a search of Appolo Duck and the various other sites. You will find one quickly enough.

Hi Paul, "In France on the canal La Marne au Rhin". Lucky chap! I hope you are having a great trip. I hope to take my Centaur to the Greek Islands via the French canals after I retire as long as Brexit does not make trips like that that too complex. I have sent you a private message with m...

Re: Hinges
Hi Paul, Thanks for the photo, question, Is the rod through the centre metal? I could easily print these in tough resin. I don't think it would present any technical problems. However I would need a good one to measure accurately so I could create a CAD drawing. I would modify the design a little to...

Re: Sorting out my wiring
On the subject of using the old cable runs - if your old wiring is marine grade tinned copper then you are lucky and probably fine. If like many the wiring is old automotive cable, then strip a bit of insulation from one end preferably the end closest to the weather. Half an inch or an inch will do....

Re: Tiger fore hatch locking leavers
Can you post a picture of the good one and the broken one? If they are made of bronze they will silver solder back together and be as good as new. Any good metal shop should be able to do this as silver soldering is easy. Silver solder is a low silver content solder alloy used for joining brass and ...

There are pretty much always at least half a dozen Centaurs for sale year-round so unless the engine is a well cared for gem I would keep looking.

Re: Hinges
Are they black plastic with a ratchet and a bolt with a spring through them? If so I have successfully 3D printed replacement hinges - Just the plastic bits you will need to re-use the spring and bolt from the old one. If thats not the sort of Hinge then send me one and I will re-create in a tough p...

Re: New engine occasionally overheats
It could be plastic or weed blocking the intake which falls away and clears when the vacuum effect from the engine water pump impeller stops. I had my intake block five times in less than 1/4 mile due to very high levels of weed in the harbour. However I always keep a close eye on the amount of exha...

Re: Empty fuel from suzuki 2.5 outboard
I have the same outboard. When I put it away last season I drained the carburettor but left the tank about 2/3rds full. This season I topped up the tank with fresh fuel and it ran fine. No issues.

Re: fasteners storage behind seats centaur
That would be good. Don't need it for very long. The Silicone moulds only take a couple of hours. Its a heat process around 70 degrees Celsius so no risk to the fitting and so I could give it back to you the same day. Then if anyone needs a fitting we can make them. So in your case Steve it would be...
