Rudder Pintle/ gudgeon on W21

Hi can anyone tell me where I can get a Rudder Pintle/Gudgeon for a Westerley 21.
I led to believe it is a Schaefer Marine J/24 Rudder Hardware piece of kit. Unfortunately only suppliers are in the USA.
Thanks

Re: Westerley 21

Most helpful regarding a wood rudder. Fortunately I have managed to recover the lost section and will try to repair that by inserting steel rod inserts.
Thanks again for people's help

Re: Westerley 21

Hi I managed to recover the other Half of my rudder, which looks like it has concrete inside?
does anyone know how the rudder is constructed?
If I made one from wood would this be too light?
If anyone has made or repaired theirs I would be interested to hear from them.
Thanks

Westerley 21

Hi All,
Due to recent gales I have lost the bottom section of my rudder.
Can anyone send me a picture with dimensions so I can build a new one?
Has anyone done this before?
Do you know where I can get a replacement?
Thanks

Re: Westerly 21

Yes it is only slightly heavier than my 6 Hp 4 stroke.
I will let you know if she sits stern down .
It has an excellent trailer and would have got you home, but glad you didn't buy it.

Re: Westerly 21

Hi Simon, Mine looks similar to yours without the caps over the step nuts. Will send photo when back at the boat. The boat I bought is Mingulay from Pwllheli. I am so used to a large bracket with two big bolts, even for a 20' boat. It is daunting to think that this little stub keeps the mast in plac...

Westerly 21

Having just bought my first Westerley, a Westerley 21 built 1978, I am surprised to find what I can only describe as a slot in the mast foot and a small plug shaped nut and screw. Is this correct, are there no bolts or other securing fasteners apart from the stays? can someone help. Thanks see pictu...
