Re: Outboard for Centaur
Thanks for the advice Gary , I don't want to buy one and find it's underpowered and not up to the task of getting me out of trouble , likewise I don't want to go too big as you pointed out the weight difference, thanks again , Gordie

Hi , does anyone have any advice on a good outboard to use as a backup for my centaur ? Tried a 3.5 hp tohatsu 4 stroke short shaft but it was not up to the task of moving the boat , I was thinking of either a 6 hp or 8 hp tohatsu 4 stroke long shaft , this would just be to get me out of trouble sho...

Re: Centaur engine cutting out
Had a boat safety inspection prior to putting boat in canal for winter , the inspector knows these engines well and told me to put on full throttle, pull stop lever up then push back down as this initiates the cold start, starts much better now !

Re: Main sheet traveller
Boiling water and silicon spray done the job on roller furling, also controlled letting out of genoa , all works well now , new wheels on traveller and have rigged up a pulley system that works just right , many thanks for all the advice ,
