Re: New Sails for Oceanquest
I had a new fully battened main from Kemp at the beginning of last season and it does set beautifully. I also found Kemps very knowledgeable and willing to spend a long time discussing my requirements. A chap moored a few berths down the pontoon was putting up a new furling genoa from Kemps on Thurs...

Re: Centaur mast compression post
Can't help with a Centaur and this is now rather an old post . However, I managed to bow the compression post in my Ocean 33 earlier this year, (in fact I've now done it twice but that's another story). The post comes up through the middle of the saloon table but after we had taken it to bits we not...

Re: sail repairs and servicing
I think as far as cleaning goes, the sails in the Portsmouth area mostly end up with a company called Top Sail, who do not deal directly with the public. Very few of the sailmakers do this work themselves, repairs may be another matter.

Headlining Replacement
Anybody pondering this should be aware of a thread on the PBO Forum website from the owner of an Ocean Lord, who has allegedly just had a very bad experience with a company called Spencer Marine. He claims the quality of the work was very poor and has posted photos on line which you will be able to ...

Re: Re-engine for Griffon in Hampshire?
I re-engined my Ocean 33 a couple of years ago moving from a Volvo 2030 to a D1-30. I got 25% off the package at the time and it was pretty much a straight out/straight in exercise. I am not sure this would be the case with your MD7 and I suppose it would be a D1-20. However, depending on your choic...

Re: Westerly Ocean 33 keel
It's very different to a Fulmar; it's bulbed at the bottom and tapers towards the stern. I have a picture of mine and would post it if I knew how!

Mast Support Post
Since buying a new main sail for my Ocean 33 I have been plagued with problems that started with the mast panting, a known problem on this model. In order to deal with this I have had XW Rigging set up the rig to the original tensions as specified by Westerly/Selden, but this has resulted in the mas...
