Re: Bukh fuel lines

I contacted the chaps at Bukh UK, Poole. They do not sell the olives separately, you have to buy replacement pipes with the olives already fitted. £60 each!!!!!!!

Gas connections

Is PTFE tape or 'Calortite' paste better for sealing thread connections on gas fittings?

Also should the olives be copper or brass (for 8mm copper tube)? The ones taken out are brass but I have been told that brass are for fuel and copper for gas but I cannot find any corroboration for this.

Re: Propeller Antifouling

I keep my Merlin in Chichester harbour and all I do is polish the prop to the best finish I can get and then lightly smear with waterproof grease. This has served me well for 15 years with no weed or barnacle growth at the end of the season. I dare say that a lanolin grease may do the same job.

Cooker choice?

I am about to replace my Flavel Vanessa (at long last) in my Merlin. The choice seems to be down to the Spinflo Nelson or the Neptune 4500. According to the spec's the Neptune seems to have the edge on burner, grill and oven output but is this the case in practice? Any comments, suggestions on eithe...
