Shaft seal for centaur
I've taken off the old stern gland/ stuffing box from my centaur as the rubber tube connecting it to the stern tube had corroded and was allowing water to leak in. I am thinking of fitting one of those volvo shaft seals just wondering if anyone knows a good Web site or place to get one. Sent from my...

Re: The eternal leak
For anyone still interested I think I've discovered the source of the leak it turns out that one of the seacocks is letting in water even when it's closed. The fitting on the pipe that is connected to the seacock wasn't tightened fully and was letting this water in. Solved I think!!! Sent from my SM...

To cut or not to cut!
This is the saloon floor of my centaur. I assume on other centaurs you are able to access the bilges from where it has been fiberglassed over on my boat . Is there any reason I should reopen this or is it best left alone. Also can anyone tell me what the circles which have been filled in with brown ...

Gooseneck on a centaur
Hey all over the last few days I have been getting my centaur ready to go back in the water. I have noticed that the spacer (not sure of proper name) between the gooseneck and the mast is cracked. just wondering if anyone knows where I can get a replacement for this.

Re: Installing stack pack and lazy jacks on Centaur roller boom
I installed lazy jacks on my centaur. Don't know what pulleys are already on ur mast but there wasn't any on mine so i had to go up and rivet a block either side of the mast. I placed these well above the spreader. i don't have a stack pack so I just riveted 3 eyes either side of the boom and ran li...

Re: Taking down a centaur mast?
I have a centaur and take the mast down every year. Usually takes 3 people though. One holding the head sail halyard and letting it out and two lads letting the mast down which pivots on its mounting. This has to be done on the dry obviously

Re: lifelines
Didn't see your post Wolfgang thats exactly what I'm looking for. I wouldn't be too confident on the old diy front that's why I was asking about kits and if not a kit what exact parts would I need

Re: lifelines
Thanks For the reply Chris. I've had a look for both Jacklines and Jackstays but they aren't what I'm looking. I need to replace the steel wire which runs from bow to stern through tbe stanchions. I always thought they were called lifelines but I'm probably wrong
