1978 Westerley Berwick MS2 gearbox oil leak

I am loosing oil from the rear seal of my MS gearbox, has anyone replaced one ? Can you slide the rear reduction casing off easily without removing the whole unit - any guidance appreciated . Thanks

Hi my 1978 teak slat seating in the cockpit needs some refurbishment - Ive finally managed to remove on section which was bolted onto the locker and firmly glued/ sealant Once I’ve cleaned and repaired what’s the correct method to fasten it back on - glue / sealant means a lot of more hard work gett...

Thanks, the top cap is welded on , so any ideas how I find the conduit ? Been up the mast again today but can't get any of the 4 cables to move, top tricolour , VHF , steaming / flood light , NASA wind cup/ Vane

Westerly Berwick

Has anyone managed to pull wires through the mast conduit inside a Westerly Berwick main mast- without destepping, any pictures of the interior would be appreciated.
Also, does anyone know of a through hull transducer fitting which take the NASA unit,

Berwick ketch leaking from binnacle into engine

Has anyone with a Berwick ketch had an issue with leaks into the engine compartment from the binnacle, it all looks sealed on the deck: can anyone advise how to get in the binnacle to hold the bolts so I can tighten the bolts from below, I do think the mizzen mast is the problem as it seems to stop ...

Hi, yes we are looking for an experienced Skipper capable of sailing from Pwlhelli to South Coast as we are already in Guernsey and not experienced enough to sail her ourselves anyway. We have an experienced sailor here in Guernsey who has agreed to sail her from the South Coast to Guernsey

We have a 1978 ketch, wheel steering - last job before she goes in water is the rudder bearings which Trafalger have supplied - has anyone changed these, any idea of the work involved/ diagrams / explanation - is it difficult - quote a present £500! Thanks

Does anyone have a rough idea approximately how much you would expect to pay to have boat done as our quote of over £1000 seems v expensive to us, but we are new to boating and this is our first boat!!
