Re: Head lining (again)
I've glued (patch glued) laminate flooring insulation foam to the back of my boards and replaced the vinyl with old charts of the area glued on with diluted PVA then varnished. They've conkled a bit but it looks OK. One day I might do the job better. I found the old adhesive came off or at least smo...

Re: Regatta 290 bad manners
We don't have any trouble with our elderly Konsort under power. One of the things I love about her is her sensitivity and responsiveness to tiller movements - she handles almost like a dinghy. Frequently use autohelm with no problems.

Re: Konsort forehatch
No it's not Lewmar - something like passeport ... I think. Must go out and recheck.

Re: Konsort forehatch
Thanks - that looks a distinct possibility. Now all I need to do is to find the scrap of paper on which I wrote the measurements last year

Konsort forehatch
We have an older Konsort and would like to replace the crazed forehatch altogether rather than just the perspex. Does anyone know the best modern replacement, taking into account the shape of the surrounding GRP?

Konsort internal improvements
This spring saw the gas system put back in and a Dometic Starlight cooker fitted, plus a heater. Both are an enormous success - freshly-baked rolls on a gruesome morning are a great boost to morale and the heater was well used during the past fortnight's wet and windy weather. We also bought one of ...

Re: Fitting New Eberspacher Heater in Korsort
Update: the Propex heater is superb! Gets the saloon really toasty very fast. We've not operated it beyond the 'blue' thermostat setting as it's so efficient. A little noisy due to the type of outlet pipe but that's quite good as we can't leave it on by mistake! We certainly needed it during the las...

Re: Fitting New Eberspacher Heater in Korsort
Ah! Was it the skipper you spoke to? Only the First Mate posts here! Yes, got the bits, everything connected, then skipper went off on the Monday to fetch some gas, having been advised where to get it cheapest!

Re: Cooker choice?
It was straightforward. Skipper calculated best height/position to allow maximum swing and cut a small notch out of the trim in front of the lockers to accommodate the gas pipe. Seems like a good cooker, though so far we've only fired up the burners, grill and oven to check they work. Had to add fai...

Re: Fitting New Eberspacher Heater in Korsort
Well, we've fitted our Propex heater as high up in the cockpit locker as we could - all very straightforward - and now have a hot air outlet in the saloon next to the galley. Fired it up for the first time today and it's excellent. Warm and toasty on the lowest setting; would have to be seriously co...

Looks like fun - though we'll both be working flat out by then in all probability!

Re: Cooker choice?
We're a Konsort and saw that someone else with one had fitted a starlight in place of a flavell so hope it's straightforward!

Re: A Bank Holiday week near Mull.
Looks like you had the usual mix of weather! What's your new boat? Our challenge last year was to cross the Minch/Sea of the Hebrides, having been north of Ardnamurchan a good few times, and we did it. Lots to explore over there but we enjoyed Eriskay very much! This year's cruise will depend on win...

Re: Cooker choice?
We've just bought a Dometic Starlight from GaelForce at a good price. Not fitted it yet as we have to take out the paraphenalia added by a previous owner who switched to Origo meths burner.
