Re: Are my batteries knackered now?
I guess they have been abused somehow. How much, I can't say. But basically they don't like deep discharge. Battery chemistry is a bit of a mystery to me, but I would keep a close look at battery capacity and voltage on the next cruise. If you have the feeling that the voltage drop correlates with p...

Re: New owner Ocean lord
To change the propeller shaft seal is pretty easy. You should be able to do it yourself anyhow. Attached is an assembly instruction from Volvo. Volvo_Einbauanleitung-Propellerwellendichtung.pdf Good luck ps to David - my Oceanranger is a center cockpit yacht and the filler is directly above the tank...

Re: Corsair/Oceanranger -location for fluxgate compass
I have mounted the EV-1 below the berth in the aft cabin. In the forward center compartment. Though it's neither near both center lines, it's working just fine.

Oceanranger / Chainplates to change or not to change
I know this has been discussed extensively for the Oceanranger and other Westerlies. But if someone is in doubt if to change or not to change, this is how one of my old chain plates looked like: chainplate2.jpg Mind you, I was changing the old ones and was removing one of them, when the nut did not ...

Snoopy in Monfalcone / Italy
Hello all,
which Snoopy is currently berthed in Monfalcone? I got briefly called from a passing Westerly in Ist (Croatia). I didn't even recognize the type.

Problem solved
I guess it was Firefox, which had a problem. I reinstalled 51.0.1. Didn't help. Then installed 52.0.1 again, didn't help. Then did a "Refresh" of Firefox (Help -> Troublshooting Information -> Refresh) and BINGO! That's it, everything back to normal. Whatever settings have caused the troub...

I guess the new platform has trouble with Firefox 52.0
On both 32 and 64 bit versions.
I guess this is not what it should be.
Any comments?
Best regards

What happened to the uploaded pictures?
Hi Philip and Jay, on one of the boards I saw that most of my photos (certainly the ones uploaded before 2016) could not be viewed anymore. They have been lost in cyberspace, or someplace else. Some of the photos I have uploaded again, but it's quite some task to find them and to upload them again. ...

Oh, the pictures are somewhere in cyberspace.
I dug around in the box where I keep my pictures and found them.

Re: New Autopilot
The EV200 is an excellent piece of equipment. I have fitted one to my Oceanranger. For me the most complicated thing was to get a tiller for the horizontal drive, which could be fitted on the rudder stock. See picture below, where you see the custom made tiller and the rudder angle sensor. tiller.jp...

Re: Volvo 2003 gear box ratio
I have a Volvo MD 2003 with 28hp on my Oceanranger
The gearbox is a MS 2B 852715 2.37, part number 310 103 3631, ratio 2,37:1.
Just as the marked one in Philip's posting.

Re: Konsort Navico DL200 Log: replacing paddlewheel
If I understood that right :?: you've done a most dangerous job. First you filed down the outside of the old through hull, what has weakened it considerably. Then you mounted the new through hull (I guess by sticking it in from the outside), but you couldn't tighten the new nut sufficiently. So hope...
