Re: Wiring in Centaur mast
It does work as I did it in a previous boat. You need to take good measurements from the mast and mark the cable to suit. Once the cable is positioned in the mast you then go fishing to get the loose ends. As you say, the steaming light is the awkward one. You do need to get tension on the cables go...

Re: Wiring in Centaur mast
No info on led lights etc but sound insulation can be done by placing three tywraps at 120 degrees to each other about 1 to 1.5 metres apart along the length of the cable run. I made up the cable run alongside the mast. When you remove the old cable use string of somebody as a mouse wire.

Re: How are the Keel bolts embedded into the Iron Keel
They are threaded into the keel. I have heard a number of people who, like Roger & I have removed the studs only to find them in perfect condition. In fact I don't recall anyone finding problems with them. The bend is where they were 'adjusted' to fit the holes when the keels were originally fit...

Re: Konsort windlass
My Konsort has the same windlass as Bob's and fits over the chain locker so no bolts in the forecabin.

Re: Kicking strap rigging?
Normally it starts at the Base of the mast then goes round the block on the boom back to the block at the mast base a couple of times before leaving at the mast base and leading back via turning blocks along the cabin top to a clutch on the coach roof by the cockpit. Your setup does some of this but...

If you couldn't find it then they would sell you a hull & deck kit to finish yourself.

John Shepherd boat transport in Glasgow covers the UK & Europe. Not the cheapest but does a good job. There are a few others in Scotland.

Re: Storm propeller
I contacted T.Norrie and talked to them when I went for a new prop for my Konsort. They asked the questions and came up with the answer from their previous experience. I also got a replacement shaft as they could the get the taper right and I was asked about the drive connection so they could machin...

Re: Forward lowers instead of the babystay on an Oceanranger
I thought I had seen some horror sites on my old Konsort but that takes the biscuit. The deck should never have been left to take the loads and glassing over in that was is not acceptable. It doesn't even look well wetted out.

Re: Cockpit lockers
One thing I think both Roger and I agree on is that you need to understand that things can get away from you very easily if you are not careful. In my case it is a Konsort that I kept removing bad bits from until it was literally an empty shell. It is the things that need to come out before you can ...

Re: Materials for antifouling advice
This is OK if you are about to go in the water but read the can if you are not as there are time limits within which you should keep. Most specify a short maximum time from painting to launching.

Re: How to access bedding for bow pulpit in a centaur?
Headlining I'm afraid though if you can find them you may be able to cut round them and just take out the required piece. Picking at headlining can be fatal and lead to an empty hull
